Historic context statements provide important information and resources about topically related historic resources. These statements typically include:

  • Sections on a broad history of the topic for a particular time period 
  • A framework for the identification of historic resource types and themes that contextualize properties within the state’s broader history
  • Guidance on how to evaluate resources for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
