The National Historic Preservation Act requires each state to maintain a State Review Board. 

In Georgia, the Review Board meets twice per year to evaluate nominations and to determine whether they meet the National Register of Historic Places criteria. After Review Board approval and comments, nominations can then be submitted to the National Park Service. Our Review Board members are historic preservation professionals with demonstrated competence, qualifications, and experience who serve four-year terms.
