Services include technical assistance, customized training, peer learning opportunities, and tools that guide communities through planning, implementation, and long-term downtown success. Technical Assistance
 The Office of Downtown Development provides tailored technical assistance to meet the unique needs of Georgia’s communities. From onsite facilitation and planning workshops to resource navigation and customized guidance, our team works alongside local leaders to identify challenges, uncover opportunities, and deliver actionable strategies. This hands-on support helps cities of all sizes plan smarter, engage stakeholders, and move their downtown goals forward with confidence.

Georgia Main Street Program
 A signature initiative of the Office of Downtown Development, the Georgia Main Street Program has been helping communities breathe new life into their historic downtowns since 1980. As one of the original state coordinating programs in the nation, Georgia Main Street supports a network of more than 100 communities using the time-tested Main Street Approach—focusing on economic vitality, design, promotion, and organization. This program empowers local leaders to preserve their unique character, support small businesses, attract investment, and create thriving commercial districts.
