He served as Professor at the University of Georgia, (1993-2021), and was named Professor Emeritus in 2001.  He coordinated the Masters of Historic Preservation Program there from 2011-2014. As a preservation consultant, Mark has authored numerous historic structures reports as well as guided preservation, restoration, interpretation efforts, including the administration of Investment Tax Credits, and preservation easements.
