2026 PIT Count: Getting Involved
The next Point-in-Time (PIT) Count for the Georgia Balance of State Continuum of Care (BoS CoC) will take place on Monday, January 26, 2026. This will include both a sheltered count and an unsheltered count, often called a street count. The sheltered count involves a provider-level survey, conducted by DCA, with all organizations providing housing projects in the BoS CoC.
The 2026 street count will occur on the night of January 26, 2026, and will be followed by a seven (7) day service-based count. Coordination of counts in different counties across the BoS CoC is led by a local Count Coordinator and supported by DCA. These Count Coordinators lead the strategy, planning, and volunteer involvement for their designated geographical area. For a full list of Count Coordinators participating in the 2026 Count, visit our Local Counts Across the Balance of State Continuum of Care page.
Register to Volunteer
All volunteers will register through the Counting Us App. Through this app, you can find counties conducting a local count and register as a volunteer. Volunteers can help their Count Coordinator by identifying known locations, helping promote the count in your area, and/or by joining a team on the night of the street count.
The

Started Flyer
provides additional support to register as a volunteer, download the mobile app, and begin capturing known locations in your community.
