Mitigation Allocations

2017 CDBG Mitigation Funding

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded $26,961,000 in Community Development Block Grant Mitigation funds (CDBG-MIT) to the State of Georgia. DCA created a CDBG-MIT Infrastructure Program with this allocation for activities that mitigate against future disasters in the areas affected by Hurricane Irma as well as the 2017 January tornadoes in Southwest, Georgia.

2018 CDBG Mitigation Funding

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded $2,669,000 in Community Block Development Grant Mitigation funds (CDBG-MIT) to the State of Georgia. DCA created a CDBG-MIT Infrastructure Program with this allocation for activities that mitigate against future disasters in an area affected by Hurricane Michael in October of 2018.
