About the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Program

Congress appropriates these funds in response to presidentially declared disasters. The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocates the appropriated funding to states and entitlement communities based on unmet needs.

DCA is currently administering three separate allocations: 2017 CDBG-DR, CDBG Mitigation, and 2018 CDBG-DR. Two tornadoes touched down in Southwest Georgia (DR 4294 and DR 4297) and Hurricane Irma (DR 4338) affected the coast in 2017. In 2018, Hurricane Michael (DR 4400) ravaged Southwest Georgia again. Additional information pertaining to the individual allocations can be found on this page.

LIMITED FUNDING AVAILABLE: Applications for the Homeowner Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Program (HRRP) will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis, and homeowners are strongly encouraged to complete their applications as soon as possible.  An application will be considered complete only once all required information and documentation have been submitted and reviewed for accuracy.  Once all available funding has been allocated, no additional projects will be considered for funding, regardless of their current application phase.

Attention

The State of Georgia is dedicated to the prevention of fraud, waste and abuse. All suspected cases of fraud will be taken seriously and complaints will be reported to the Georgia Office of the Inspector General for further investigation (866-435-7644).
