Public Notice: Draft Public Action Plan for CDBG-DR 2023-2024 Hurricane Allocation

Notice is hereby given that the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA) is seeking public comment for the 2023-2024 CDBG-DR Hurricanes Action Plan and may be viewed here: Download this pdf file. https://dca.georgia.gov/document/action-plans/cdbg-dr-2023-2024-hurricanes-action-plan-0/download

The purpose of the hearings is to provide an opportunity for public engagement regarding the $265,726,000 awarded to Georgia by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) funds for activities in the Presidentially Declared Disaster areas affected by the 2023-2024 hurricanes (DR 4738, DR-4821, and DR-4830).

Through coordinated efforts with the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS) and Local Governments, DCA is in the process of drafting a Public Action Plan.  The Public Action Plan will identify the intended use of the CDBG-DR funds and is due to HUD on April 21, 2025.

The public comment period opens on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, by posting on the DCA website and distribution by email to Local Governments to inform the public of the draft Public Action Plan, and inviting comment through Saturday, April 19, 2025.  During the public comment period comments may be directed to:
