Georgia Serves grants $4.9 million in AmeriCorps funding
Atlanta, Ga. (August 25, 2025) – Georgia Serves is awarding $4,951,957 in federal AmeriCorps funding to 17 organizations across the state, enabling approximately 613 AmeriCorps members for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.
These AmeriCorps members will address Georgia's toughest challenges including education, economic opportunities, health, homelessness, support for people living with disabilities, and financial literacy.
The following organizations were awarded grants to implement AmeriCorps programs in Georgia:

AmeriCorps’ model ensures today's federal investments will leverage approximately $3 million from the private sector, foundations, and other sources to amplify its impact.
The Corporation for National and Community Service will provide more than $3 million in Segal AmeriCorps Education Awards for AmeriCorps members funded by these grants.
Since the program’s inception in 1994, more than 1 million Americans have served in AmeriCorps, contributing more than 1.5 billion hours of service, and earning more than $3.6 billion in education scholarships. More than $1 billion of this funding has been used to pay back student debt.
Upon completing a full term of service, full-time AmeriCorps members may receive an education award of $7,395, which can be used to pay for college or repay student loans. Award amounts vary based on member status.
Annually, 75,000 AmeriCorps members serve more than 21,000 schools, nonprofits, community- and faith-based organizations across the country. These individuals are crucial in community recovery from disaster and community advancement through assisting first-generation college students in accessing higher education.
Nationally, members tutor and mentor young people; connect veterans to jobs; care for seniors; reduce crime and revive cities; fight the opioid epidemic; and meet other critical needs.
