Notice: Georgia Mortgage Assistance Announces Revised Final Application Deadline 

Funded through the Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF), the Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ Georgia Mortgage Assistance (GMA) program will close to new applications after assisting nearly 12,000 Georgians in remaining in their homes and helping prevent over 1,600 foreclosures statewide.   

The GMA program will stop accepting new applications on February 28, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. This deadline has been updated from March 31, 2026. All applications must be complete and submitted through the Georgia Mortgage Assistance portal at GeorgiaMortgageAssistance.ga.gov by that time.

Customer Service representatives are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to answer general questions about Georgia Mortgage Assistance programs.   

Applicants who need assistance completing their application should contact Customer Service to schedule an appointment for support by phone or in person at the Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ Atlanta office.   

Applications must still be submitted by February 28, 2026, to be considered for assistance.

Georgia Mortgage Assistance is a federal program with limited funds. Not all eligible homeowners may receive assistance before funds are exhausted, and submission of an application does not guarantee approval or availability of funds.
