Appalachian Regional Commission Notice of Funding Opportunity: Program Update
Program Update as of May 14, 2026
DCA is making available infrastructure funding in Georgia’s Appalachian Regional Commission footprint. Pre-applications for funding are due June 19, 2026, and full applications are due July 10, 2026. Funding limit per project is $2,000,000 and all applicable match requirements apply.
UPDATE: DCA has extended the increased project funding limit of $2,000,000 to include the October 9, 2026, deadline. Applicants that meet the July 10 deadline with all necessary documentation (specifically, PER/PAR for construction projects) are encouraged to do so, as funds will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Any funds not awarded in July will be available in October.
Eligible Projects:
- Water system expansions, improvements, new construction;
- Wastewater system expansions, improvements, new construction;
- Stormwater management systems;
- Road realignment, especially in industrial areas/employment centers;
- Sidewalk improvements, expansions, construction, especially in downtown areas or those areas walkable to a commercial/industrial district/employment center;
- Bike paths and trails MUST show a significant economic impact.
PLEASE NOTE: Full construction applications require a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) or Preliminary Architectural Report (PAR). The report must be prepared by a qualified professional procured through the appropriate competitive process.
In accordance with Georgia’s Service Delivery Strategy, applicants must be the designated owner/operator of any infrastructure created/improved by these funds.

- Other entities designated as providers according to the community’s Service Delivery Strategy
