Updates to Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Operations

June Temporary Office Hours: 

To support required staff training related to system updates, walk-in services will be unavailable on Wednesdays from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. during the month of June. Participants needing assistance during this time should contact their assigned Housing Specialist to schedule an appointment. Walk-in assistance will resume Wednesdays from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. 

Updates to HCV Program Operations: 

Effective July 1, 2026, DCA is implementing updates to improve service delivery and processing efficiency. These changes are based on staff and client feedback and are intended to reduce delays, improve consistency, and support a more secure document submission process. 

Important Changes: 

  • Digital submissions required 
  1. Paper forms will no longer be accepted. 
  2. Documents must be submitted through the RentCafe portal. 
  3. Email submissions with personal information will not be accepted. 
  • Office closed to the public on Fridays 
  1. Beginning July 1, the HCV office will be closed to the public every Friday. 
  2. Staff will continue processing requests to reduce delays and improve service times. 

Public Hours: 

  • Monday – Thursday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. 
  • Friday: Closed to the public 
  • Appointments are available by contacting your Housing Specialist. 

RentCafe Access Requirement 

To access the RentCafe portal, you must have an active email address. If you do not have an email address, you may create one for free using any email provider (such as Gmail, Outlook, etc.). An active email is required to receive important notifications and manage your account. 

Connect With Us Remotely 

Housing Specialists are available to meet with you remotely via Microsoft Teams to address your questions and concerns. All you need is a smartphone or a computer. Appointments can be scheduled with your assigned Housing Specialist.

  • Appointments are typically available within 2 to 3 business days 
  • Urgent needs will be addressed as quickly as possible
