About the Emergency Housing Voucher Program

The Emergency Housing Voucher Program is a special voucher program established as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA). Funding for this pandemic-era program has not been extended and the program will end on June 30, 2026.

Please note: This update only applies to the Emergency Housing Voucher Program. Other DCA Housing Choice Voucher programs are not impacted by these changes. If you are not sure if you or your tenants have an Emergency Housing Voucher, please call 470-802-4707 or email [email protected].

Support Available for Tenants

  • Housing Navigation
    If you have an Emergency Housing Voucher that is ending, you are eligible to work with a Housing Navigator to help you search for a more affordable place to live. To request Housing Navigation support, please reach out to [email protected], or call 470-802-4707.
  • Georgia Housing Search
    GeorgiaHousingSearch.org provides detailed information about rental properties and helps people find housing to best fit their needs. The service can be accessed at no cost online 24 hours a day or through a toll-free, bilingual call center at 1-877-428-8844.
  • Supportive Services
    You may also be eligible for supportive services funded through DCA’s HOME-ARP program, which include housing-related services, case management, general life skills services and supports, legal services, and others. A list of organizations providing these services and how to contact them can be found under HOME-ARP's Supportive Services section.  
  • Homelessness Resources
    Should you find yourself at risk of homelessness, please contact your local homelessness Continuum of Care to access available homelessness resources. You may find information by calling 844-249-8369, emailing [email protected], or by viewing  DCA's Homelessness Resources.
  • United Way 211
    United Way 211 is a confidential service that connects people with community resources. Some of the resources include housing support, utilities, food, health care resources, and additional services. You can find information by calling 2-1-1 or by visiting 211 United Ways of Georgia.
  • Georgia Legal Services Program
    Georgia Legal Services Program (GLSP)'s 10 regional offices provide free legal services to low-income households in the areas of family law, housing, access to public benefits, eviction prevention, farmworkers rights, and access to education.
