Before serving in Congress, Mr. Hall served as a member of the Atlanta City Council for the 2nd District, on the Atlanta Board of Education as Vice-Chair of the Audit Committee, and on the Atlanta Development Authority. He has also served on the boards of directors of the World Affairs Council, Leadership Atlanta, and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.

He is now the CEO and Managing Partner Chattahoochee Trails, an organization dedicated to promoting water reclamation and recreational development near the Chattahoochee Riverfront in Atlanta. He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
