Broadbent is also a former Council Member with the City of Johns Creek and a former Board member of the Development Authority of Fulton County. Broadbent earned his bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Virginia and graduate degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and George Washington University.

Broadbent is a retired U.S. Navy Commander, having served for twenty-two years in active and reserve roles. He currently resides in Greensboro, GA.
